Mister Yummy
Deadline reports Australian filmmaker Ben Young (Hounds of Love) is attached to direct a feature based on Stephen King’s 2015 short story, Mister Yummy. The story concerns Ollie Franklin, “a charismatic resident of an assisted living facility who begins experiencing disturbing visions after the death of a fellow resident. As the line between memory, regret, and the supernatural begins to blur, Ollie is forced to confront long-buried secrets from his past before time finally catches up with him.”
Mad Max 5
According to the industry newsletter Puck (via Comic Book), George Miller is looking for a new studio to fund his next Mad Max movie after Warner Bros. “officially passed” on the project following the negative reception to Furiosa. Luckily, “Amazon, Universal, and Sony Pictures are all reportedly showing significant interest in acquiring the rights to produce the sequel.”
Escape from New York
During a recent interview with Comic Book, Jason Momoa stated he “would never” attempt to take over the role of Snake Plissken from Kurt Russell, no matter who was directing the project.
Do we need a remake? I even like [Escape from L.A.]. And I love Kurt Russell, and the truth of it is, like, as much as I love Zack [Synder], someone’s like, ‘I want you to do Snake,’ and I’m like, ‘I love Kurt Russell. I don’t want to.’ I would never want to step into that. It’s one of those things where you’re like, oh my God, I would love to do that. But at the same time, I’m like, I love him too much … I really love Kurt, and I [say] good luck to whatever actor is going to do that.
Lobo
In a separate interview with Collider, Jason Momoa stated he also doesn’t “have any interest in making” a PG-13 Lobo movie and will “not do it” unless the final product is rated R.
It’s all I want, and I promise — I’m just going to put this out there right now — I do not have any interest in making a Lobo PG-13 movie. So, will [Lobo] be a part of some other movies? If they want me, I’ll be there. But if I make a solo movie, I’m not doing it unless it’s rated R.
Supergirl
According to the Irish Film Classification Office, the final cut of Supergirl runs just 108 minutes long.
Wonder Woman
Relatedly, Collider recently spoke to Supergirl screenwriter Ana Nogueira about her progress on the script for a new Wonder Woman movie.
There will be a little sniper dot on my head if I say too much. But I will say that, like from all of it, I try to approach every character that I write from a place of what feels is the most true to me about them. For Kara [Zor-El], it was this backstory that she had. I always try to come at it that way and put on some blinders, and see what the character means to me before I take them off onto the page.
Moana
Meanwhile, Screen Rant reports Disney’s live-action Moana remake runs 111 minutes—exactly four minutes longer than the animated original.
Evil Dead Burn
A new flight of Evil Dead Burn “character” posters showcase the film’s various improvised murder weapons.

Rick and Morty
Finally, Rick needs help in a clip from this Sunday’s new episode of Rick and Morty.
