I didn't read this article because a shitty video add appeared over the content and made me wait to read it. After 5 seconds I reloaded the page to leave this comment here.

There are some ads that I will tolerate. Blocking content and forcing me to pay attention to adds? No.

(edit):

I should add that there are many reasons I'm against this, not the least of which being that we all are now being forced to pay for bandwidth, and I'm now paying through the nose for internet access on multiple devices. I can't run my 500 different versions of adblocking on all devices, which means that I'm being forced to pay for the bandwidth that's being used not to deliver content that I requested, but to deliver someone else's badvertisements. I understand that advertisements are a useful and necessary revenue stream and they help generate the content that I'm interested in. But as content providers you can choose to be dicks about it (blocking your own content in order to present an ad), or not (placing the ad off to the side. As a rule, I either navigate away from sites with ads blocking their content straight away, or I refresh the page straight away. I have never purposely clicked on an ad, and don't believe I ever will.
