A Nuclear Explosion, As Seen From Space

One of the many, many amazing bits of photo and video being run in The Atlantic's powerful package on nuclear testing in the US is this shot.

It's a space view of a 400-kiloton bomb detonated in the atmosphere, 30 miles above the Pacific, during Fishbowl Bluegill in Oct. 1962. [The Atlantic]
