This is the trailer for Chappie, an upcoming sci-fi/adventure flick from writer/director Neill Blomkamp (Elysium, District 9) about a childlike robot who’s kidnapped by criminals, must learn how to be cool, and at some point figure out the difference between right and wrong. Just like high school!
The movie is out March 6, and it stars Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel, and (and!) Ninja and Yo-Landi Vi$$er of South African electro-rap duo Die Antwoord. Hell yeah. We don’t know much about it, other than the themes of machines grappling with human feelings. But we do know the presence of Die Antwoord means there has to be at least an overtone of weird.[EW]
