The American Film Institute just announced the top ten greatest movies of all time in ten genres, including scifi. A lot of the usuals made the list, except for Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The AFI was smart enough to include Terminator 2 (which was far superior to the first) but chose Star Wars: A New Hope over The Empire Strikes Back, which is clearly the best of the SW movies.
