Amazon Does Prime Day Early, the Sonos Move 2 Now Costs What the Original Move Did

The original Sonos Move launched at $399. The Move 2 is the upgraded successor with dual tweeters, twice the battery life, and automatic Trueplay tuning, and Amazon just dropped it to that same price before Prime Day.

The original Sonos Move launched at $399 and was considered expensive for a portable speaker. The Sonos Move 2 is the upgraded successor with twice the battery life, a higher-fidelity stereo soundstage, and automatic Trueplay tuning, and Amazon currently has it at $399, down from its regular $499, which is the same price the original Move debuted at when it launched. Amazon is not waiting for Prime Day to offer this price, and Sonos is not offering it anywhere else.

Dual tweeters, automatic tuning, and 24 hours of battery from a speaker built to travel

The Sonos Move 2 replaced the original’s single tweeter with two, which unlocks a true stereo soundstage that the previous generation could not produce. The precision-tuned woofer delivers deep, dynamic bass alongside the crisp vocal and instrument detail that the dual tweeters enable, which produces a sound quality that most portable speakers at any price cannot match from a unit this size. Automatic Trueplay tuning analyzes the acoustic environment continuously and adjusts the sound profile in real time as the speaker moves from room to room or indoors to outdoors, which means the Move 2 always sounds optimized for wherever it is rather than wherever it was when you last adjusted it manually.

Battery life runs up to 24 hours on a single charge which is double what the original Move delivered and enough to cover a full outdoor day without carrying a charging cable. The wireless charging base is included and accepts the speaker by simply setting it down, with a detachable power cable and compact adapter that fit into any travel bag without a dedicated pouch. USB-PD charging from any compatible power supply handles top-ups on the go when the base is not available.

The IP56 rating covers spills, splashes, rain, dirt, and dust, which keeps the speaker functional through outdoor use that would damage standard Bluetooth speakers. Shock-absorbent materials protect against accidental drops, and the built-in handle provides a secure grip for carrying between locations. WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity cover home streaming through the Sonos ecosystem and direct Bluetooth pairing for portable use away from home.

The Sonos Move 2 at $399 is for anyone who has a Sonos home system and wants a speaker that integrates seamlessly with it, or for anyone who simply wants the best-sounding portable speaker available without compromise.
