Beats audio solutions offer solid sound, but most of them aren’t exactly affordable. Amazon has some impressive post Prime Day discounts available that change this, and one option worth considering if you’re after a pair that’s specifically designed for workouts is the Powerbeats Pro 2 buds.
These noise-cancelling workout earbuds retail for $250, but can now be picked up for $180 on Amazon. That’s after an impressive $70 discount. You can choose from four colors when ordering, including Jet Black, Electric Orange, Hyper Purple, and Quick Sand. But note that because the offer is marked as a “limited-time deal” on the retailer, it could end soon. We won’t recommend waiting too long to grab them if noise-cancelling workout earbuds have been on your wishlist.
Solid noise cancellation and a long battery life
Your workout earbuds should fit securely in your ears, so that you aren’t adjusting them repeatedly throughout the session. These come with secure-fit earhooks that stay locked into place, even when you’re actively engaging in cardio, trying out Zumba, or doing a heavy lift. They’re also pretty lightweight, which means having them on for extended sessions won’t feel too uncomfortable.
Active noise cancellation blocks the outside world for you to listen to whatever’s playing without any distractions. If you train in a gym, this mode can help cut down on all that machine noise around you and make it easy to focus on your own thing. During times you’re training with an instructor or a friend, you can switch to Transparency. This one lets some ambient sounds in so that you can stay connected to what’s happening around without taking the earbuds off completely! That’s basically the best of both worlds.
Pairing is quick and easy for both Android and iOS devices. The powerful H2 chip by Apple also offers great battery life of up to 45 hours with the charging case. That’s enough to keep you going for days with casual use. Plus, when you’re running low and don’t have time for a full recharge, plugging your buds in for only five minutes can get you an additional 1.5 hours of playback – sufficient for one gym session or a quick grocery trip to the store.
Beyond all the basics, another thing that deserves a mention is the built-in sensors that track your heart rate during activities. This won’t replace a smartwatch, but it’s still nice to have if you don’t want to invest in one right now or just happen to leave yours at home.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 headphones are now only $180 at Amazon, down from $250. All colors are discounted at the time of writing.
