Mr. Bones, a rare albino alligator at St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park, recently needed to get a CT Scan to investigate a problem with his jaw. This made for a pretty unique photo opportunity.

Via the park’s Facebook page:

He is in the excellent hands of University of Florida Zoomed staff. He is NOT sedated hence the extra straps holding him down. Sedation in crocodilians is risky and unpredictable and he needs to remain completely still for the CT. Flipping him over would eventually sedate him, but only because blood flow to his brain becomes limited. This is currently the best method of restraint.

Here’s hoping Mr. Bones’ treatment is as low-stress as his caretakers can provide!
