When artist David Choe painted murals inside Facebook’s Palo Alto headquarters back in 2005, he was given a choice for his compensation: $60,000 cash or the same amount in Facebook stock. Choe chose the stock options, which turned out to be a pretty smart move. When Facebook went public in 2012, Choe reportedly made about $200 million.

From the February 1, 2012 New York Times:

The graffiti artist who took Facebook stock instead of cash for painting the walls of the social network’s first headquarters made a smart bet. The shares owned by the artist, David Choe, are expected to be worth upward of $200 million when Facebook stock trades publicly later this year.

So what has Choe been up to more recently? The L.A.-based artist has been hiding cash around Detroit, taking Anthony Bourdain to the Sizzler in Koreatown, and possibly sexually assaulting his massage therapist.
