Io9 2025 Spoiler

Bloodborne

During Sony’s panel at CinemaCon 2026, the studio confirmed it is working with YouTuber Jacksepticeye to develop an R-rated animated feature adaptation of the 2015 soulslike Playstation game.

Escape From New York

THR reports a remake of John Carpenter’s Escape from New York is now in development at StudioCanal and The Picture Company.

The Howling/The Howling 9

THR also reports StudioCanal is developing “a reimagining” of Joe Dante’s 1981 werewolf movie, The Howling.

Paddington 4

The outlet additionally has word a fourth Paddington movie is in the works with an unspecified “team of comedy writers” attached to script.

Creature From the Black Lagoon

In a recent interview with Comic Book, James Wan said t he’s having some difficulty conceptualizing his upcoming Creature from the Black Lagoon remake at Blumhouse.

I mean, the Creature from the Black Lagoon is not easy. The Creature from the Black Lagoon is not an easy one. It takes a lot to get it right.

Untitled Sci-Fi Horror Project

Deadline also reports Dave Boyle (House of Ninjas) has been hired to direct a currently untitled “sci-fi-inflected horror” film for Paramount Pictures and producer Walter Hamada’s 18Hz label. While details on the plot are currently under wraps, Boyle will “also rewrite the screenplay, based on an earlier draft by Natalie Conway and Peter Stanley-Ward.”

Sleepaway Camp

During her recent appearance at the Days of the Dead convention (via Bloody-Disgsuting), Sleepaway Camp star Felissa Rose discussed the potentially controversial upcoming remake.

With the new Sleepaway Camp, I feel — given the subject matter —we really need to be tender with it and give it the best reimagining we can. I feel like it needs to be handled really tenderly and with understanding of our trans community and LGBTQ community. It has to be really done right. I think we really have to give it the love and the understanding that, today, where we are. It’s being very supportive and giving to what the character is going through. I’m super excited to see that. I want to play Aunt Martha, so that’s what I’ve been telling them. That would be super fun. In the very end, there’s Aunt Martha with Peter, the very last little moment, and we don’t hear Peter’s side of that conversation, and I think that could be pivotal in understanding where that character stands. I think we need to dig deep into that.

Night of the Living Dead

Elsewhere, Vivica A. Fox, Brittany Underwood, Robert Carradine, Miko Hughes, Zack Ward, Rob Van Dam and Adam Huss star in a new remake of Night of the Living Dead

The X-Files

David Duchovny confirmed to THR “there have been talks” about him returning for the new X-Files, but “there’s nothing concrete at this point.”

There have been talks about certain things, but there’s nothing concrete at this point. I’ve spoken to Ryan [Coogler], and I have a general sense of what it is, but I haven’t read the script. I wish them luck. It’s a great frame that Chris Carter came up with all those years ago — a believer and a nonbeliever tackling these mysteries. I always thought it was endlessly generative. It really comes down to the writers room for me. Because we had great writers. We had Vince Gilligan, the Morgan brothers, Howard Gordon, Darin Morgan, and others. We were blessed to have a writers room that could generate 20 to 25 movie ideas. The X-Files was a movie idea every week. So I hope Ryan doesn’t have to do 25 [episodes] and only has to do 10 or 12. And I hope he’s got great writers, because that’s really the key to making that show work.

The Boys

Finally, Amazon has released a belated promo for this week’s new episode of The Boys.
