It’s been 413 days since we last experienced the brilliance of Andor, not that we’re counting… or still crying. The award-winning Star Wars show followed the exploits of Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) from his earliest years as a child up until his hugely consequential impact on the Rebel Alliance. It was, probably, the best Star Wars storytelling we’ve ever seen and is well worth revisiting again and again. But, if you don’t have a day or two to revisit 24 episodes over two seasons of the show, now you can do it with a few flips of a page.
This week, Abrams Books is releasing The Art of Star Wars: Andor (The Complete Series) by Phil Szostak, and as the title says, it takes fans through both seasons of the amazing show. It features a foreword from the show’s creator, Tony Gilroy, and an afterword by his brother, Dan Gilroy, who wrote on the show and won it its most prestigious award, the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.
In between? It’s a fascinating, detailed look at basically every aspect of the show, from its writing, inspirations, and, of course, its concept art. Concept art means ships, it means costumes, it means creatures, and basically everything that makes Star Wars “Star Wars.”
