First, Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender was supposed to get a theatrical release. Then, it was supposed to go straight to Paramount+. Then, Paramount decided to release it in theaters for just one week, and only in New York and Los Angeles. And somewhere in the middle of all that, Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender turned out to be a pretty good film that didn’t deserve all the mess that surrounded it.
If you, too, found yourself pleasantly surprised by how little Paramount’s shenanigans ultimately affected the quality of Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, you’ll probably also be pleasantly surprised to hear that the movie is getting a 4K Ultra HD SteelBook release. In February. For $46. And there are no details on any special features yet. Look, we have to take what we can get when it comes to this movie, okay?
If you don’t want to wait six months to get your hands on a copy of Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, you can get it in some other physical format—the box says “Blu-ray + digital code,” the Amazon listing says “Blu-ray” in the title but lists the format as “DVD,” and the press release says “DVD and Blu-ray,” so we wish you all the best in rolling the dice—for an unknown amount of money when it releases in November.
The 4K SteelBook of Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender releases on February 9, 2027, while the Blu-ray (or DVD, or both) releases on November 3.
