Poor Barry. First his best friends start calling him out for altering all of space-time, and then he has to deal with Oliver Queen making him look like a clown in front of all his superfriends.
The latest clip from this week’s megacrossover between the CW’s DC superhero shows, from tonight’s episode of The Flash—the actual start of the crossover, as much as the CW would’ve liked you to think it was actually last night’s Supergirl—sees Barry, after introducing Supergirl to the assembled casts of Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow, “elected” team leader of the motley crew by Ollie.
Liberally throw around some finger-quotes while reading that, because it’s pretty much Ollie using the adorably naive Barry as a puppet to try and make all these excitable kids around realize just how dangerous the incoming alien invasion really is.
It’s a fun scene—as in any featuring Barry being a puppy-dog goof—but my favorite thing is the clear frustration Cisco holds for his former friend following the revelation last week Barry was ultimately responsible for his brother Dante’s death. The one thing that worried me the most after the latest developments in The Flash that the discontent amongst Caitlin, Cisco, and Barry over Barry’s creation of Flashpoint was that it would all be dropped for the smiles and glee of the crossover, but so far, that thankfully doesn’t appear to be the case.
The DC/CW crossover beings/continues/somethings with tonight’s Flash.
