Official Bat-news is breaking, moments after the rumors surrounding the auditions for Chris Nolan's new female lead. We've got the official title, and the scoop on what's really happening with The Riddler.
Hero Complex just broke the news from the director himself that the new Batman movie will officially be called The Dark Knight Rises, which kind of makes sense after where we left Batman in the second feature.
But more importantly Nolan completely squashed all Riddler rumors once and for all: "It won't be the Riddler," Nolan said. "We'll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we'll be introducing some new ones." So there you have it, no Riddler. But that doesn't mean Catwoman and Killer Croc are out! But that last statement almost seems to cement our Talia al Ghul, theory: She's the daughter of a Batman Begins villain (something old and something new?).
There will be a much longer version of the interview on Hero Complex later, in which Nolan discusses how he convinced the studio to keep screening Dark Knight in IMAX, instead of switching to 3D. Thank goodness. Until then, how does losing The Riddler make you feel? Remember, Joseph Gordon-Levitt Riddler enthusiasts, that doesn't mean JGL won't be cast. Nolan does have a tendency to cast the same actors again and again - just look at Tom Hardy!
