Ben Aaronovitch’s “magical detective” series Rivers of London (known as Midnight Riot in the US) was a fresh take on the mashup of Police procedural and the supernatural when it released in 2011 — and io9 can exclusively reveal that the world of Police Officer/Wizard Peter Grant is coming to comics, thanks to Titan!

An all-new, five-part comic series set between the fourth and fifth books in the Rivers of London series, Broken Homes and Foxglove Summer, Body Work sees Peter Grant take on his latest supernatural case for the London Metropolitan Police Force’s “Special Branch” — investigating mysterious incidents of cars coming to life across the city and murdering their drivers.

Body Work is a veritable who’s who of former Doctor Who creatives: Aaronovitch (who wrote the 1988 story Rememberance of the Daleks and 1989’s Battlefield) will write the series with former showrunner Andrew Cartmel, with art from Lee Sullivan, who has worked on a vast variety of Doctor Who comics. Rivers of London: Body Work #1 will be available from June 15th, both in comic book stores and digitally.
