Ben Whishaw is reportedly in talks to play the grown-up version of Michael Banks, the boy from the first Mary Poppins film. I kind of need this to be happen.
Mary Poppins Returns, which is set 20 years after the first film, has amassed a fairly impressive cast list so far. Emily Blunt is already playing Mary and Lin-Manuel Miranda is playing Jack the lamplighter. In addition to Whishaw, Meryl Streep is also in talks to play Mary Poppins’ sister, Topsy.
