Kinsta Review: How Good Is This WordPress Hosting in 2026?

By Florian Gray

If you’re searching for the best managed WordPress hosting, this 2026 Kinsta review is for you. We’ve had our share of these pricier WordPress hosts, including WPX Hosting and WP Engine. Both showed excellent performance, an array of features, and top-of-the-line security. During our Kinsta review, our impression was almost identical—no surprises there!

While we found it enthralling overall, it’s worth noting that Kinsta charges a premium. Moreover, when we consider cheaper managed WordPress hosts, like Hostinger or SiteGround, there’s the question of whether Kinsta is worth the extra money. So, is it?

We’ll answer that in today’s in-depth Kinsta review for 2026. Stay with us as we examine its features, subscription plans, security, customer support, ease of use, and more. We’ll also draw parallels to its popular rivals to show how it stacks against them in the real world.

Kinsta Plans, Pricing, and Features

As always, we’ll start our Kinsta review with its subscription plans, addressing their prices and features. Similarly to recently tested WP Engine, Kinsta is a WordPress-only host. Naturally, this means it doesn’t offer a variety of hosting, such as cloud, VPS, Minecraft hosting, etc.

Instead, Kinsta emphasises WordPress and WooCommerce hosting and offers different plans, as expected. As you’ll soon see, it also includes an optional dedicated server extra, which can be bought for better uptime, performance, and ultimately isolated server resources.

WordPress Plans & Prices

Let’s begin with WordPress plans since they’re the most popular. Kinsta divides its plans into three categories: single-site, multiple-site, and agency. We’ll focus on the first two, especially the first category, since the lowest-tier plan can be used for free for a month, without an upfront payment.

Kinsta will take only $1 from your credit card to verify, but immediately return it. After the first month, you’re charged $350 for a year, a smidge under $30 monthly. The single-plan plan allows for 35,000 visits, 10 GB of storage, 125 GB of CDN, a free migration, and a 14-day backup retention.

Move the slider to the right and increase all parameters, except for the number of websites. Best of all, Kinsta allows you to order a custom plan, where you can determine storage size, the amount of space on a CDN, etc.

Again, multiple-site plans start at $0 for the first month for two websites, 70,000 visits, 20 GB of storage, 250 GB of CDN space, unlimited free migrations, and 14 days of backup retention. After the first month, you’re charged $700, or about $58 monthly.

You can again use the slider to adjust the plan or opt for a customised version. You can also switch to monthly billing, albeit at notably higher prices. Kinsta starts at roughly $30 monthly, which excludes it from the list of the best cheap web hosts in 2026. It’s great, but far from affordable.

WooCommerce Plans & Prices

Its WooCommerce plans are even pricier. They’re more generous visitors-wise, while the rest are virtually the same. However, WooCommerce plans don’t include a 30-day free trial; you’ll have to splurge $500 immediately. That’s $42 monthly for the lowest-grade single-site plan.

The cheapest multiple-site plan allows you to host five WooCommerce stores instead of two WordPress sites earlier. However, it starts at a head-spinning $1,150 for a year. That turns out to $96 monthly.

We haven’t addressed its Agency Program, but it starts at $284 monthly and is billed at $3,400 annually. The program includes enterprise-grade features, such as free hosting for an agency website, $10,000 hosting credits for eligible agencies, and nifty account management.

Features Available in All Plans

During the Kinsta review, we were partially impressed by its comprehensive toolkit.

As expected from the top-rated WordPress host, Kinsta lacks very few things. However, our partial happiness stems from the fact that many of its features are paid extra for. This doesn’t bode well for users who barely managed to afford Kinsta, and now, they have to spend extra to get… well, we’d say essentials.

Regardless of the chosen plan, Kinsta includes:

  • Kinsta CDN with edge caching
  • Unlimited users and access management
  • MySQL database optimisation
  • Free malware removal + DDoS protection
  • Free CDN with as little as 125 GB of space
  • 14-day backup retention (up to 30 days)
  • Standard staging environment

Here’s the kicker now. These features are free in all plans, but don’t worry. Kinsta doesn’t lack a single thing, and if you’re ready to pull out some more cash from your account, you can enjoy:

  • Dedicated servers at $300 monthly
  • External site backups at $2 monthly per site and $1 on top for each GB of bandwidth
  • Premium staging environment at $20 monthly per environment
  • Redis caching at $100 monthly per site
  • Kinsta automatic updates at $3 monthly per environment
Kinsta Paid Features

There are more, such as the number of websites on the chosen plan, disk space, and extra backups. For example, adding another WordPress site costs $30 monthly for one website, while 20 GB of space costs $20. Things can quickly add up and make Kinsta insanely pricey.

Compare this to Hostinger or SiteGround, two extraordinary managed WordPress providers, and you’ll find a long list of features at noticeably less money. Is Kinsta worth the extra bag of money you’ll spend yearly or even monthly? After this Kinsta review, we’re inclined to say no.

Speed Test Results

Kinsta has a lot going on that contributes to its class-leading performance.

First, it includes a CDN, or Content Delivery Network, which speeds up loading times and drastically improves performance. If you spend more and purchase Redis caching, expect better performance and faster load times. However, you don’t have to pay more for NGINX web servers, which Kinsta uses out of the box.

To remind you, SiteGround also uses NGINX web servers and is one of the fastest web hosts.

Kinsta Data Center Locations
Server locations that Kinsta offers © Kinsta

Where Kinsta also excels is the number of server locations. According to its website, the provider currently offers 37 managed WordPress data centers in pretty much all parts of the globe, including:

  • Asia (including hosting servers in Singapore)
  • Europe (Germany, Netherlands, Italy, France, …)
  • North America
  • South America (Brazil, Chile)
  • Middle East (including Israel)
  • Australia

Then, there are boosted regions, around 11, where Kinsta provides 20% to 50% faster response times and PHP execution. For this test, we opted for a regular web hosting server in North America, Ashburn, and made a WordPress website using the cheapest single-site plan.

GTmetrix Speed Test Results

We quickly moved to GTmetrix and initiated our tests. However, instead of using the US server, we set the testing location to Canada (Vancouver). This is the most used testing location in GTmetrix because it’s free and accessible to anyone with an account.

In our Kinsta review, we observed five parameters, including:

  • TTFB or Time to First Byte. Ideal value: under 800 ms.
  • FCP or First Contentful Paint. Ideal value: under 1.8 s.
  • LCP or Largest Contentful Paint. Ideal value: under 2.5 s.
  • TTI or Time to Interactive. Ideal value: under 2.5 s.
  • FLT or Fully Loaded Time. Ideal value: under 3.0 s.

Having their ideal values in mind, the results we achieved were majestic:

TTFB 131 ms
FCP 249 ms
LCP 587 ms
TTI 433 ms
FLT 702 ms

As a remind, we achieved these results with Kinsta’s ‘default’ features. We could’ve used Redis caching and other performance-enhancing features to get more. However, Kinsta performs exceptionally, beating most of its typically advised alternatives even in its’ vanilla’ state.

Uptime and Average Response Time

Using UptimeRobot, we measured Kinsta’s uptime for the past three months, only to achieve the result of 99.97%. This is a phenomenal result and way above the initial 99.9% promise. We detected a few prompt downtimes that collectively haven’t lasted for more than ten minutes.

Switching to Loader, we tested its response times, and the results were great.

Kinsta scored an average response time of 89 ms with 100 virtual users, which was impressive for VPS hosting, let alone shared hosting. With a peak of about 176 ms and a low of about 61 ms, Kinsta blew away most of its competitors. After that, we sent 500 virtual users to our Kinsta website.

The response time climbed to 103 ms, indicating that Kinsta remained stable and reliable amidst a significant surge of users.

Is Kinsta Easy to Use? Our Honest Experience

Kinsta’s onboarding process is buttery-smooth.

Since you can start for free, you won’t have to jump through many hoops. Select the plan, provide basic information, and enter your credit card data. Once you subscribe, you’ll be transferred to its intuitive dashboard, which is where the magic starts.

First, you’ll have to create a website. The first option is a WordPress site, while you can also create an empty environment or clone an existing one. Of course, you can also migrate a website, which we’ll discuss in a second.

After clicking on ‘Install WordPress‘, Kinsta completed the setup for us, and we logged in to our administrator panel with our username and password. It’s worth noting that Kinsta allows you to choose the data center right before installing WordPress on your new website.

Make sure you pick the one that aligns with your audience. For instance, choose a data center within the United States if you plan on having a North American audience.

Website Migrations With Kinsta

We also tried to migrate an existing site, which was a bit more complicated, as we had to prepare all website files and databases. The downside is that Kinsta can’t perform a regular WordPress migration because WordPress prevents access to the site’s database.

Instead, Kinsta meticulously transfers your website content, which is used with the new WordPress installation, to create a new website. Migrations can be short or long, depending on the website’s size. Since we used a small test website, Kinsta completed it in about 36 hours.

After that, we received a notification of completed migration, along with a few more insightful tips on how to proceed.

Dashboard Analysis

While some hosting providers use cPanel, others, like Kinsta, come with an in-house control panel.

It’s one of the best we’ve tested, actually. The left side contains all of the tools. You can access your applications, manage databases, or view your WordPress sites here. Click on the last one and add a new WordPress website with a click, provided you have enough space in your plan.

The dashboard’s home screen provides insights into your hosting usage.

The resource usage graph highlights data related to website visits, CDN usage, disk usage, and more. You’ll also notice the bandwidth graph, highlighting your bandwidth usage over a specific period.

Choose your website from the WordPress Sites menu to access specific functions. This menu allows you to manage plugins, themes, backups, redirects, caching, and more. You can even block IP addresses from accessing the site using the IP Deny tool.

One thing we found handy is Kinsta’s automatic CDN connection. Whilst most hosts include it, but require manual connection, Kinsta’s Cloudflare CDN is pre-installed on your website. As a result, it improves loading speed and performance without manual labour.

How Secure is Kinsta Hosting?

In our Kinsta review, we meticulously examined its security features and concluded they meet the highest standards.

While the provider omits some features and hides them behind the paywall, unlike WP Engine, security features aren’t on the list. So, whichever plan you purchase, Kinsta will include:

  • Web Application Firewall. This Cloudflare firewall blocks malicious traffic and protects your website from potential threats.
  • DDoS protection is standard protection against distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks that overload a website’s resources and cause it to crash.
  • Malware scanning and removal. As managed WordPress hosting, Kinsta’s malware removal is, more or less, a standard feature. It works efficiently thanks to proactive 24/7 monitoring. When malware is detected, it’s promptly removed, after which, Kinsta repairs the damage done to the website, plugins, themes, etc.
  • Free SSL (Wildcard). Instead of Let’s Encrypt, which we typically see, Kinsta implements a Wildcard SSL certificate to secure the connection between the visitor and your website.
  • Automatic site backups. Automated daily backups are a no-brainer. They’re in all plans and offer 14 to 30 days of backup retention. You can also perform manual updates or increase their frequency by paying extra.

Kinsta covers all the basics, and more than that, to prevent things from going awry. While not the most security-oriented web host we tested, it’s up there with some of the best picks. After all, we haven’t had a single security issue in our testing for this Kinsta review.

Customer Support

Managed WordPress hosting usually has one advantage over unmanaged services: customer support.

Well, it’s hard to bestow this support team the title of the best, although it’s great overall. As a premium user, you’re spoiled for choice between live chat, email, and phone support. Live chat support is advertised 24/7, but our Kinsta review experience has shown the opposite.

Live chat support will instead be there Monday through Friday from 5 am to 10 pm UTC.

Kinsta Support
© Kinsta

This form of support is excellent when it’s online. Its responses are swift, precise, and helpful. Email support is realised via the ticketing system, where you fill out the form and send it to the support team for review. The response time is slower, but still under a few hours.

Finally, there’s phone support, which is reserved chiefly for sales inquiries.

This support form is likely implemented for potential customers who want to get more information about the price, features, services, etc. You can skip chit-chatting altogether and instead opt for its knowledge base, which contains answers to frequently asked questions.

While not the most comprehensive, it answers many questions, such as how to create a WordPress site, fix specific issues, etc.

Our Final Verdict

We ended our Kinsta review for 2026 on an excellent note. It’s one of those managed WordPress hosting services you can’t fault for anything in particular. Fast, easy to use, and feature-rich, Kinsta has cemented its name as one of the most impressive options in 2026.

However, this all-around has one critical flaw, and we believe you saw it coming—the price.

When we reviewed WPX Hosting, we called it expensive for an average user, yet its price was roughly $20 monthly. Kinsta’s starting price of $30 for a single WordPress website and plenty of enticing (paid) add-ons won’t fit the bill of most people, even those with larger budgets.

Kinsta is like a luxury vehicle. You know you’re in for a dreamy ride, but you’re well aware that maintenance costs a fortune. At this price and the current managed WordPress hosting marketplace, it’s hard to deem Kinsta our #1 option. So, what are your alternatives?

We ultimately settled for Hostinger as the best managed WordPress hosting at a ten-times-lower price, with lots of features included. SiteGround is another option that costs slightly more but about four times less than Kinsta. Finally, you can also try Bluehost, a fully managed WordPress host that costs multiple times less and is recommended by WordPress for its performance and ease of use.
