Imagine the struggle of having to solve the WPX vs SiteGround dilemma. Fast, reliable, and secure, these web hosts represent luxurious options for your WordPress site. An adequate case in point is the price, which isn’t particularly low or budget-friendly on either side.

However, the fact that these are some of the range-topping WordPress hosts remains. They both include managed WordPress in all plans, taking care of your site updates and optimization promptly. What’s more, both are WooCommerce-enabled, so even selling online can be a good idea.

Before that comes to fruition, we need to revisit the WPX vs SiteGround puzzle. Which one is better in 2026? Drawing from our assessment, our experts ended up sticking with SiteGround simply because it was cheaper long-term and faster in the performed tests.

We don’t want to take anything away from WPX Hosting. It’s exceptional, as long as your budget is flexible enough for such an investment. We’ll see which kind of investment it is and examine both WPX and SiteGround in this 2026 comparison. Read on. It’s going to get rough.

Hosting Plans, Pricing & Features

SiteGround and WPX have different approaches to hosting plans.

WPX Hosting offers strictly shared hosting and divides it into two separate options — WordPress and WooCommerce. To sell online, you’ll have to get the latter. If not, you can pass by with a WordPress plan and call it a day. SiteGround is a bit more forgiving, let’s say.

SiteGround WPX Hosting
WordPress Hosting
WooCommerce Hosting
VPS & Dedicated Hosting
Cloud Hosting
Reseller Hosting

Its shared hosting plans include managed WordPress and WooCommerce is enabled by default. This results in SiteGround being a superior option for WooCommerce stores, at least from an investment standpoint. It also happens to include cloud hosting, unlike WPX.

Another thing you see from the table above is reseller hosting. This option will entice cloud-hosting business enthusiasts — less so those who need to host a website. Either way, the variety that SiteGround provides gives it more flexibility because of cloud hosting plans.

WordPress/WooCommerce Hosting Prices

As said, SiteGround mixes WooCommerce in all plans with Managed WordPress. So, each plan you choose is ready for you to use it however you want. The provider has three distinct plans: StartUp, GrowBig, and GoGeek. We’d jump the first one and go for GrowBig instead.

GrowBig is only $6.69/mo and includes, at least for us, obligatory features like website staging, on-demand backup copies, and unlimited website hosting. Pick this one if you choose SiteGround.

WPX Hosting offers WordPress plans at as low as $20.83/mo — quite a price! This plan is overshadowed by the best-value Professional plan, which was our choice for the WPX Hosting review and consequently this test. You can roughly see what it offers above.

If you want to sell online, you’ll need to spend as “little” as $29.17/mo for the Powerstore plan. You can choose Superstore at $62.50/mo or Hyperstore at $125/mo for more computing resources and generous limits. Powerstore was enough for demanding needs.

Both providers have a 30-day money-back guarantee, but we can’t help but notice just how pricier WPX Hosting is. I mean, you’ll spend at the very least four times more on WPX Hosting than SiteGround. This instantly begs the question — is WPX Hosting four times better than SiteGround?

Web Hosting Features Comparison

We’ll have to answer only a portion of this question.

Features-wise, WPX Hosting doesn’t offer four times more than SiteGround. As you see above, none of the WPX plans allows you to host unlimited websites. However, they do offer more storage — up to 100 GB vs 40 GB in SiteGround, which is very underwhelming.

WPX Hosting’s plans virtually contain identical features, and price increases are due to more generous limits, i.e., more websites, storage, bandwidth, RAM, CPU cores, etc. Disappointingly, WPX Hosting restricts your bandwidth, whilst SiteGround puts no limits.

We love that both options offer all features within their plans and don’t force you to purchase anything additionally. So, here are some of our favorite shared features in this WPX Hosting vs SiteGround duel:

  • Managed WordPress & WooCommerce
  • Free SSL
  • Free email with unlimited user accounts
  • CDN (included for free in all plans)
  • Daily website backups
  • Caching (LiteSpeed in WPX, NGINX in SiteGround)
  • Free malware and DDoS protection
  • Web Application Firewall
  • Free website speed optimization
  • Worldwide data centers (US, EU, Asia, AU, …)
  • Website staging
  • Collaborators (multiple users on one account)

We appreciate that WPX’s plans are 100% identical in terms of features. SiteGround’s StartUp plan lacks staging and on-demand backup copies. Simultaneously, if you need white-label access and free Private DNS, you’ll have to splurge on the GoGeek plan at $10.69/mo.

On the other hand, SiteGround’s prices don’t reach the same level. WPX Hosting is a serious investment and costs way more even in the entry-level plan, so naturally, it should include more. However, SiteGround’s highest-tier plan hardly misses any feature in comparison.

Winner: SiteGround

SiteGround is a fantastic low-cost hosting option that doesn’t lack a single major feature. Just to be clear, it’s not the cheapest pick (Hostinger and DreamHost are cheaper), but it’s way less expensive than WPX Hosting whose features, while impressive, can also be found in SiteGround for less.

Keep in mind that neither offers a free domain, so don’t forget that part of the initial cost. If that sits alright with you and cost-efficiency is your primary goal, SiteGround will provide a better value overall.

SiteGround vs WPX Hosting Performance Comparison

Besides the price, most website owners appreciate fast and dependable hosting services.

We have a ranking that mentions them and if you look closely (or from afar), SiteGround is almost at the very top. As you’ll soon be able to witness, WPX Hosting is fast and performs formidably, but SiteGround was just a bit more convincing across all our performance tests.

Before we proceed, let’s give our tests some context.

Both providers have multiple data centers, but because we’re in the USA, we chose their American servers for our websites. We also made two identical WordPress sites using the Astra theme, which is lightweight, but still capable of juggling multiple interactive elements, lots of compressed imagery, and stuff like that.

Our tests were concentrated around GTmetrix and Pingdom for loading speed, uptime, and response time testing respectively.

GTmetrix Speed Test Results Comparison

GTmetrix is all about website speed and our tests on this website were performed on its default server in Canada — Vancouver, to be accurate. We opted for this server because it was set by default. Plus, it’s accessible to free GTmetrix users who want to test their site just a few times without paying.

For this SiteGround vs WPX Hosting speed test, we glanced at the five important metrics:

  • TTFB of Time to First Byte
  • FCP or First Contentful Paint
  • LCP or Largest Contentful Paint
  • FLT or Fully Loaded Time
  • CLS or Cumulative Layout Shift

With that out of the way, here are our speed test results — they indeed look promising.

SiteGround WPX Hosting
TTFB 40 ms 355 ms
FCP 281 ms 523 ms
LCP 321 ms 1.1 s
FLT 683 ms 1.1 s
CLS 0.02 0.02

SiteGround has masterfully won this part of the test, despite being tested from Canada and not the US, where the website was hosted. WPX Hosting performs admirably, and with times well below the upper limits, it’s safe to say it’s very reliable and enjoyable to use.

However, look at SiteGround’s TTFB of a meager 40 ms — or should we say grandiose?!

Look at FCP of just 281 ms and FLT of 683 ms — the latter is very impressive, as the entire website manages to load in under 700 ms! SiteGround is even quicker than Hostinger on many occasions, and that provider is already blazing-fast. What does the practice say?

Well, we usually don’t notice differences unless they’re alarmingly high. The only difference we noticed, but barely, was in Fully Loaded Time, which was considerably shorter in SiteGround. However, even 1.1 s in WPX is below the maximum of ~2.5 s, which is nice.

Uptime & Response Times Assessment

Using Pingdom and testing WPX Hosting vs SiteGround for the 3 past months, we found out that they adhere to their uptime promises, and these promises are stuck at 99.95%. One provider exceeded this promise and that was WPX Hosting with no downtime in our tests.

It might be a coincidence — we don’t know. What we know is that we tested WPX Hosting multiple times and Pingdom couldn’t detect outages, so a 100% uptime result shined brighter than Sun. SiteGround had a few minuscule outages in the same three months.

Its uptime was, however, 99.95%, which is exactly on par with the industry standard.

Our Pingdom tests allowed us to observe their average response times, and we collected information about both. WPX Hosting had an average response time of 376 ms, while SiteGround sat at 299 ms. For the second time, SiteGround excels in server performance.

Its response times were overall lower, with no sharp spikes in highs and lows. The same applies to WPX Hosting whose response times barely reached 550 ms on very rare occasions. To cut it short, SiteGround has lower response times and WPX has better uptimes.

Winner: Tie

Overall Winner: SiteGround

While WPX Hosting’s uptime was an impressive 100%, SiteGround was more dominant in other speed metrics, including loading times and average response time. We can attribute that to its vast server fleet and NGINX static/dynamic element caching that ensures industry-leading speeds.

Which Hosting Provider is Easier to Use?

Ease of use is another important element where we personally prefer SiteGround — your preference may differ. SiteGround uses an in-house sPanel or Site Tools, which not only looks modern but is equally functional. Our favorite section, Pinned Tools, is a great addition.

It allows you to pin the tools you use the most and access them in seconds. Moreover, sPanel works in one window, so to speak, so once the page loads, there’s no additional loading as you’re switching menus. Speaking of them, they’re on the left-hand side of the display.

You’ll find Security, Speed, WordPress, Domains, and much more. The panel also provides comprehensive data about your disk space and general website information. Better yet, WordPress is extremely simple to set up and virtually requires just a few mouse clicks.

SiteGround also lets you install WordPress + WooCommerce simultaneously and that’s awesome!

Wpx Hosting Dashboard Panel

WPX looks a bit punchy with its strange blend of pink, yellow, red, and orange colors. Under the silly look resides a quite intuitive panel with vital functions on the left side, where you can manage your files, perform backups, access databases, and install an SSL on your website.

Website migration is simple too, and WordPress can be installed at the drop of a hat. We also love its simple staging, as the copy of the website is made with a click — again. Once created, you can do your thing. However, a staging copy takes one website slot, so keep that in mind.

Winner: SiteGround

The overall experience is great on both sides if you’re a seasoned hosting veteran. If you’re a newbie, SiteGround’s SiteTools panel is slightly easier to navigate, looks better, and is slightly snappier. Once you get the gist of any of them, it’ll be smooth sailing — we can’t complain too much.

Which Web Hosting Is More Secure?

Apart from speed, ease of use, and sheer features, one should always emphasize website security. If you think malware infestations and data loss are seldom, you should rethink your beliefs. These things happen and can seriously harm your website, but not if you’re smart.

If you are, you’ll choose a secure web hosting solution like SiteGround or WPX Hosting.

But then, if you’re wondering which one is more suited for the task, we’ll have to say they’re both awesome. Here’s a short list of their security features:

  • Free SSL certificate (Let’s Encrypt)
  • Automated daily backups (with on-demand backup copies)
  • Malware scans and removal
  • Advanced DDoS and Brute Force protection
  • Web Application Firewall

They have some unique features, too. For example, WPX Hosting offers enterprise-level DDoS protection, while SiteGround has a self-learning AI anti-bot, which adapts to new threats, detects them swiftly, and removes them to prevent even slight damage to your site.

SiteGround’s AI anti-bot system is a work of art, at least in our opinion. As it scans the server every 0.5 seconds, it’s extremely efficient at finding even the slightest, most unnoticeable threats. However, SiteGround is not leaps and bounds above WPX Hosting — they’re on par.

Drawing from our experience in which we hosted multiple websites for months, we haven’t experienced a single security-related problem. That, we think, speaks volumes about their dedication to security in every plan, with no bonus add-ons that would steal your money.

Winner: Tie

Security geeks don’t have to sit and think indefinitely about which web hosting is more secure. If you love keeping your website security tight, both SiteGround and WPX Hosting will be up for the task.

Customer Support

SiteGround and WPX Hosting have similar customer services — on paper, at least.

There’s live chat, phone, and ticketing support. SiteGround includes all three, while WPX Hosting only lacks phone support. Despite that, WPX proved to be even better than SiteGround on many occasions, especially because you can get in touch whenever.

Siteground Customer Support

The live chat widget sits calmly on the site, so provide your email, type in the question, and you’re in! SiteGround loves to sort of inspect your request. If it’s simpler, it’ll be tackled on the spot. If it’s complex, the request is transformed into a ticket for further inspection.

SiteGround’s phone support is great, too, but not great if you’re not very talkative. That’s not to say it’s inefficient — it’s excellent! While WPX relies primarily on 24/7 live chat support, its ticketing system is realized well and the support team fairly quickly tackles incoming tickets.

Both providers have comprehensive knowledge bases where you can tackle your problem without chatting too much. There are concise tutorials about website migrations, WordPress installations, and whatnot. WPX and SiteGround outdid themselves and we’re very happy.

Winner: Tie

Being responsive and helpful, their support teams showed us how things should be done. Whichever option your heart desires will be right in this case, and you’ll get help in your time of need from renowned hosting experts.

Conclusion: Choose SiteGround Over WPX Hosting

We hope that this WPX vs SiteGround comparison for 2026 was clear enough for a proper conclusion. Yes, SiteGround has won more rounds and is, by extension, a superior option to WPX Hosting. If you have an unlimited budget, we can talk about personal preferences.

However, for most people, SiteGround’s prices are far more feasible, plus its plans are in no way lagging behind WPX Hosting, despite the difference. You still get all the essentials and more, at a roughly four-times-lower price.

Does that render WPX completely useless?

No! WPX Hosting is phenomenal if you can afford it — it’s one of the best managed WordPress hosting providers. Luckily, SiteGround lets you spend less and enjoy the same level of security and support while having an intuitive sPanel and faster loading speeds.
