If you’re an inexperienced user looking to build a website, SITE123 is a solid option. In our SITE123 review for 2026, we were pleasantly surprised at its simplicity. SITE123 is nearly a foolproof website builder, allowing you to build a stunning site in a single day.

Moreover, it offers a handful of templates, is great for blogs, and, above all, includes a free website builder. However, underneath all this glory, SITE123 hides a few flaws. Join us in this SITE123 test as we explore its features, templates, pros, cons, and everything else.

This is a revised and updated review for 2026, so stick around for a complete assessment and a conclusion where we’ll give you our final two cents.

4

SITE123

SITE123 is a straightforward website builder that emphasizes design simplicity and website performance. While it offers useful e-commerce tools and reliable support, it lacks design flexibility, has a confusing pricing structure, and is missing advanced marketing features.

Pros

  • One of the simplest website editors
  • Versatile website templates
  • Respectable website performance
  • Decent e-commerce tools

Cons

  • Poor website design freedom
  • Confusing pricing structure
  • Email marketing could be improved

How Much Is SITE123: Cost Analysis

Okay, since we mentioned the famous two cents, let’s dive in and discuss SITE123’s pricing.

As stated earlier in the review, simplicity is the game’s name here, so don’t be surprised if you see this word popping up more than a few times. Once you’re on the site, you’ll notice just two subscription plans. The first one isn’t a subscription, it’s a free plan!

Site123 Price
© SITE123

We must say it’s pretty underwhelming and offers:

  • 250 MB storage
  • 250 MB bandwidth
  • Subdomain

It’s not even that great for small businesses. We tested this free plan and found it suitable for small personal websites. Stringent bandwidth and storage limits, and the lack of a custom domain, will make your website look silly. Okay, so what about the paid Premium plan at $7.80 monthly?

This one is a lot beefier, with:

  • Free domain for a year
  • 3 GB of bandwidth and storage
  • Ability to connect your domain
  • Store (e-commerce features)

Simplicity has two faces—one is beautiful, the other is ugly. This time, we’d say it’s somewhere in the middle, as SITE123 is so simple that it doesn’t include that many features. Moreover, with such frugal storage and bandwidth, you have as much freedom as a house cat.

The good news is, SITE123 includes a free domain, which is unusual at this price. Like Wix, Squarespace, and other popular website creators, SITE123 is fully refundable within 14 days.

SITE123: Hidden Subscription Plans

When you register for SITE123 initially, you can select only the Premium plan. However, SITE123 pulled a horrendous move by allowing you to select other plans ONLY after registering. When we selected the Premium plan, SITE123 casually registered us as free users, without allowing us to pay.

Discover Site123 Plans

When we clicked Upgrade up top, we noticed that the Premium plan had been aptly renamed Basic. There were three more plans: Advanced at $8.28 monthly, Professional at $11.88 monthly, Gold at $15.48 monthly, and Platinum at $33.75 monthly for 12 months.

Moreover, SITE123 allowed us to select the length up to 120 months. That’s TEN YEARS!

You may be wondering about these plans and why there are five tiers. We’ll explain briefly:

  • Basic. It’s for professional use, such as smaller WordPress websites, portfolios, blogs, etc.
  • Advanced. It’s aimed at small businesses and offers 10 GB of storage and bandwidth, two mailboxes, and 1,000 mailing list messages.
  • Professional. It’s an e-commerce plan with 35 GB of storage and bandwidth, five mailboxes, one additional language, and up to 100 orders monthly.
  • Gold. It offers 50 GB of storage and bandwidth, additional languages, 500 monthly orders, and advanced e-commerce features, such as abandoned cart, SEO advisor, multi-currency, etc.
  • Platinum. This one offers 100 GB of storage and bandwidth, everything from the Gold plan, the back-in-stock function and automatic coupons.

We must express contempt for SITE123’s deceptions again. The home page, which displays only the Premium plan, states that it supports e-commerce. However, the plan is later renamed Basic, which doesn’t. Instead, users can start selling online in the Professional plan.

While SITE123’s price isn’t exorbitant, deceptive business practices often screws up people’s brains. SITE123 should display its plans directly and allow newcomers to pick one based on their needs. This is really disappointing.

Getting Started With SITE123 in 2026

SITE123’s, guess what, simplicity begins with your subscription.

For this review of SITE123, we used the paid Professional plan, but again, we had to click on the Premium plan, which was the only paid plan displayed. When we clicked on Start Now, SITE123 allowed us to choose which type of website we wanted to build:

  • Regular website
  • Online store
  • Blog
  • Landing page

We selected the first option, and then SITE123 asked us for more information about our website, such as its category, name, and description. We just named our website and selected the category from the drop-down menu, without bothering with other details.

The next step was to provide our name, email, and password or sign up using Facebook or Google.

We used Google this time, and after about twenty seconds of ‘cooking’, which is displayed above, SITE123 transferred us to the website editor, which, again, screamed the good old word—simplicity!

We’ll repeat that SITE123 will not charge you upfront, even if you choose the paid Premium plan immediately. Instead, you’ll be given a free plan, and then, if you want, you can upgrade to the paid plan by clicking the yellow Upgrade button in the upper-right portion of the editor. Such a terrible design.

Website Building & Design

If you love Wix’s drag-and-drop editor, SITE123 will feel a bit odd, but surprisingly relieving. Wix allows for ample design freedom, which is a double-edged sword. Seasoned users will appreciate it, but beginners will be overwhelmed with all the possibilities.

SITE123 scratches all that in favour of a section-based editor, similar to the one in Weebly.

On the home page, you can initially change the colours, menus (styles and sizes), and images. The left-hand menu contains all the website’s pages, and you can sift through them to modify each. Interestingly, SITE123 provides enough freedom to edit your website’s mobile versions.

You can switch to a tablet or mobile screen with one click to ensure the site looks good.

Conversely, some editors allow you to edit only the desktop version, while the mobile version is ‘responsive’ and automatically adapts. As said, SITE123 is all about section-based website building, so don’t expect to be able to drag and replace certain sections. You can only alter them.

Site123 Layouts
© SITE123

For example, if there’s a section for testimonials, you can add testimonials or remove it if you don’t need it. You can also replace the section with another one. However, the lack of freedom is compensated for through SITE123’s layout options, which we found rather unique.

For instance, if you don’t like how your contact form looks, SITE123 offers several alternative layouts. Building a website with SITE123 is like playing around with LEGO. You don’t drag and drop anything; instead, you play around with sections and arrange them as you like.

SITE123 excels in ease of use, which stems from its confidently designed website templates and layouts. You’ll master the editor in no time, and once you do, designing each consecutive website will be a pleasure.

How Good Are SITE123’s Site Templates?

SITE123 offers plenty of interesting website templates for different purposes.

The selection isn’t vast compared to Wix or Webflow, but there’s categorisation to simplify finding the templates you need. As you can see, SITE123 includes categories, such as:

  • Business
  • Blog
  • Photography
  • Music
  • Event
  • Restaurant, and many more.
Site123 Templates

Each category boasts a few templates, resulting in a total of 84. The template quality is okay, but not better than Wix or Squarespace. Still, it’s not impossible to find excellent-looking templates in categories like Restaurant, Blog, and CV, which we enjoyed most.

SITE123 lets you preview each template in a new window and use the pre-built site to see how it functions. The templates SITE123 offers are simple from a design standpoint, with no advanced interactive elements that we see in Webflow, but that’s expected from a simple website builder.

Overall, judging by its templates, SITE123 is ready for most websites. From online shops and event organisations to church, wedding, and portfolio platforms. You’ll find what you need.

SITE123 E-Commerce Features Review

Is this the best e-commerce platform if you want to sell online? It’s likely not.

We tested its Professional plan during our SITE123 review in 2026. Granted, it doesn’t contain every e-commerce tool SITE123 offers, but there’s plenty to enjoy. However, we’ll mention one downside: the limited number of monthly orders. Our plan had 100.

On the brighter side, setting up an online store in SITE123 is, as expected, equally simple.

You can access the e-commerce module from the menu on the left and work your way up from there. Click on All Products, select Add New Product, and add your goodies. SITE123 lets you add images, prices, descriptions, product categories, general information, and more.

Depending on the plan, SITE123 lets you set up payments swiftly and even translate your store to multiple languages. Beefier plans, Gold and Platinum, support multiple currencies and allow you to enable store reviews, wishlists, and abandoned cart recovery.

We dislike the store design freedom, which is pretty restricted. This makes every online store made with SITE123 look nearly identical. The layout is the same, with big, rectangular product images, and you can alter only specific attributes. The backend is easy to manage.

Under Settings, you can calculate taxes, configure shipping, and manage payment methods. Just be content that SITE123 is tailored to smaller online shops and businesses. If you’re more ambitious and require more sales tools, we invite you to check out Shopify instead.

Are SITE123’s SEO and Marketing Tools Any Good?

SEO and marketing tools are where flagship website builders shine.

It’s like comparing a mid-range to a flagship phone and noticing how subpar the camera is on the former. That’s what differentiates these two. Similarly, while the top-tier website creators never lack SEO and marketing tools, mid-rangers tend to skimp on a few features.

Let’s start with SEO, which is decent, but not the best.

Site123 Website Advisor
© SITE123

SITE123 includes the SEO Advisor tool. As the name implies, it aids SEO by displaying different aspects that need improvement. You can click on them, and SEO Advisor will explain what they are and how to improve them, assigning you a score from 0 to 100. Not bad.

We love that SITE123 includes an SEO Audit tool, which makes site auditing straightforward.

There are two caveats, though. One is that the SEO Audit tool checks only basic information, such as meta tags, keywords, titles, etc. The second is that SEO Advisor is unavailable in most plans. It starts with the Gold, the highest-tier plan next to the Platinum one.

In our SITE123 review, its email marketing features were ‘okay’ but unimpressive.

Site123 Email Marketing
© SITE123

Email marketing begins with the Advanced plan, but it’s limited to two mailboxes and 1,000 monthly emails. If this is insufficient, each consecutive plan offers 5, 10, and 25 mailboxes and 2,500, 10,000, and 50,000 monthly emails. These numbers, on paper, sound pretty good.

Our problem is on the design front, where SITE123 lags behind the competition. There are a few templates, but they’re as unique as a Toyota Corolla.

Are There Any Third-Party Tools?

In our SITE123 tests, we also examined its app store, or better said, plugin store.

You can open it by going to Settings and clicking the Plugins menu. Under Popular Plugins on the left side, click See More Plugins, and then select Add New Plugin. SITE123 divides them into multiple categories, such as:

  • Popular
  • Analytics tools
  • Live support chat
  • Marketing tools
  • Webmaster tools
Site123 Plugins

We were most interested in its marketing tools, but they usually revolved around Facebook Pixel, Google AdSense, LinkedIn Ads, Drip, Beamer, etc. We haven’t found an email marketing tool to complement SITE123’s built-in one. On the brighter side, the plugins we found were ‘verified’, so to speak.

Some live support chat plugins, such as Zendesk Chat and LiveChat, are widely adopted by large companies. Similarly, webmaster tools like GSC and Bing Webmaster Tools offer extensions of SEO features, such as site auditing, keyword research, and more.

SITE123 Review: Performance & Uptime

The performance of SITE123 was an essential part of our review, but not so much as ease of use and features. After all, no one uses a website builder for speed. It’s all about convenience and no-code website building. If speed is your priority, better look for fast web hosting.

Nevertheless, we made a website with SITE123 following the best practices to ensure genuine performance results. After that, we tested our website on GTmetrix, using the default Canadian server in Vancouver. We examined these parameters:

  • TTFB, which is Time to First Byte.
  • FCP, which is First Contentful Paint.
  • LCP, which is Largest Contentful Paint.
  • CLS, which is Cumulative Layout Shift.
  • FLT, which is Fully Loaded Time.

Let’s be clear and say that the results were well within the standard range; take a look:

  • TTFB: 401 ms
  • FCP: 655 ms
  • LCP: 931 ms
  • CLS: 0.1
  • FLT: 1.5 s

These results are excellent considering that SITE123 uses shared hosting, like all other website builders. Of course, if you put SiteGround or Hostinger next to it, the website builder will look silly. However, these parameters indicate stellar website performance.

When we sent a surge of 1,000 visitors with Loader, we experienced a bit of turbulence and increased response time, from the initial 471 ms to over 1,100 ms, but that’s expected from a website builder with restricted bandwidth. Finally, we’ll address its 99.9% uptime result.

Having tested it in Pingdom, we noticed just a few minor downtimes in the past three months. SITE123 won’t move mountains with its performance and reliability, but we can’t say we’re unsatisfied considering this is primarily a website builder, not a web hosting service.

Customer Support

We assessed the support team in our SITE123 review for 2026, and the results were stellar. 24/7 live chat support is available, and you can get in touch with a single click. Find the question mark button at the bottom right, click on it, and press Send Us a Message to start.

Type in your question, press Send a Message, and you’ll be picked up promptly.

SITE123’s support responds immediately, and depending on the problem or question, the conversation can be either slow or fast. We inquired about a few basic things, and the support member took seconds to respond. The more complex the issue, the more time the support will need to investigate it.

© SITE123

Either way, simpler issues are resolved with ready-made answers, while more complex ones, in the case of no resolution, are sent to the upper echelon of the support team for investigation. You can also examine SITE123’s Support Centre if you’re not lazy.

Sift through articles, find the solution yourself, and avoid chatting if that’s a problem. In our SITE123 review, the level of support was surprisingly high, putting some pricier options to shame. Some, not all.

The Final Verdict

At the end of our SITE123 analysis for 2026, it’s time to give you our promised final two cents.

SITE123 undoubtedly ticks many boxes. If you’re a beginner wanting to build a website without coding, this is perhaps the simplest platform. You’ll find a solid selection of good-looking templates, enjoy a section-based editor, and ultimately get stable performance and timely support.

Our critiques are aimed at SITE123’s deceptive pricing, the lack of more comprehensive SEO and marketing tools, and the lack of design freedom that impacts both websites and online stores made with SITE123. Ultimately, SITE123 is a solid option for many website types.

You can build a church website with it and simultaneously have a small online shop while offering a nifty blog section that you can monetise with Google AdSense. Feel free to test SITE123’s free version, and if the pros outweigh the cons, you’re in for a nice adventure with the world’s simplest-to-use website builder.

If you find it constrained and unfit for the job, consider Wix, Squarespace, or Shopify instead.
