Despite jargon blather about codecs, quality, and buggy review units, It’s hard to sort out the hardware between the two new disc formats; in the end, the one that still plays new releases 3 years from now is the winner. But today, here’s how many films are out for each. (Drumroll!)

Blu-Ray has 14 flicks on the street, with 76 coming when they damn feel like it.

HD-DVD has 36 titles on the street, and 129 out and about sometime after now.

Clearly, by the numbers, HD-DVD is looking good, especially because it has Robocop in the lineup. (PS, I hope you appreciate that I counted those movies myself.)
