Building Your Own Air Hockey Table Is Surprisingly Easy

Air hockey is Canada’s greatest pastime. Okay—that’s not exactly true, but who the hell doesn’t love a game of air hockey?

The low-pitch buzzing of the table’s fan, the constant thwack of the puck bouncing off the boards, the excitement you get when you score: It all brings back some of my fondest memory at the arcade.

For one YouTube star, playing air hockey at a local venue wasn’t enough. He decided to build his own miniature air hockey table, and he recorded every step process. The craftsmanship on display in his tutorial is absolutely incredible. The only thing missing is a gigantic air horn blaring so that your opponent really feels the wrath of each goal.

It’s always cool to see projects like that. But in this particular case the quality of what this looks like is similar to the $50 tables you can buy on Amazon or whatever. Unless doing the project for just fun, at some point this is more expensive for just materials and my time. But that’s just me.
