Surprise, surprise. Camcorder Info just named their favs for this year, and the best of the best happens to be the Canon Elura 100, a miniDV camera that costs under $400.

Amazing, considering its company had HDD storage systems, HD resolution, and price tags over $4000. How did this happen?
It trumped every challenger, either by virtue of its performance, features, or value.
Excellent. Congratulations to the camera that Caminfo calls the pinnacle of the 10-year old miniDV tech. I still want a more expensive one though, filled with bleeding edge experimental tech that is likely to crap out as I fire it up. Sorry.
