Unannounced DC Comics Project

Tom Hardy has teased that he’s talking with DC to create a new movie (and potentially TV series) around one of their characters:

HARDY: I actually got something cooking with Warner Bros. which is also a comic book, it’s a DC thing which is kind of…

Oh you should really share because I’m not a journalist, no one’s recording this.

HARDY: It’s really good actually, it contains elements of all kinds of stuff. From Ocean’s Eleven, to Batman, you can get all the wrappers out and it would be a big, really cool, Technicolor, Pulp Fiction…It’s a psychological fuckfest, it’s absolutely awesome. It’s as if you would take Transmetropolitan and make it happen, but it’s not that out there it’s something which is much more real world. It could be like Heat, it could be fucking awesome. Let me tell you what it is, try and guess.

No, but you know what I’m saying. I’m trying to be respectful with the time. My thing is, they have a schedule through 2020 that they’ve announced movies. Is what you wanna do something that’s not on that schedule?

HARDY: It’s not even a movie.

So it’s something you’ve seen…

HARDY: It’s already… It’s real estate, it’s PRIME real estate which is sitting there right under everybody’s nose that no one’s really thought about yet and it goes TV and movie, it’s awesome. I can’t believe that nobody has even –I know they thought of it but no one has actually blown life into it yet.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Kathleen Kennedy discusses the film’s balance between fanservice and offering something new:

“It’s sort of like going to a concert where you want to hear the new stuff that they’ve written, but really you want to see some of the old songs,” she said. “And we’re in a similar kind of thing: we’re getting the band back together, and we know that people are going to want to be reminded of the things they love, but they’re going to expect to have a new experience.”

Daredevil/Marvel Netflix

Rosario Dawson has signed a new contract to return for the show’s second season as Claire Temple — but Deadline reports that her contract also has a larger TV deal that will see the character appear in the other Netflix series: Iron Fist, Luke Cage, AKA Jessica Jones, and Defenders.

AKA Jessica Jones

Netflix has released a new synopsis for the show:

Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need... especially if they’re willing to cut her a check.

Continuing at Wizard World Philadelphia, Amell discussed DC’s plans to keep the DC TV and Movie universes separate:

As of right now, the movie universe and the television universe are very, very separate. I mean we’ve seen Ezra Miller, who’s going to play The Flash in one of the upcoming films, and even on the Suicide Squad, we have a whole slew of characters that are now representing the Suicide Squad. And the Suicide Squad is at least for the foreseeable future is not going to be featured on Arrow. So we’re keeping those universes separate.

Agents Of SHIELD

Maurissa Tancharoen, Jed Whedon, Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb offer a series of teasers for this week’s season finale:

“Bobbi doesn’t like needles.”

“Mack has an axe.”

“Casualties of war.”

“Coulson is going to lose something important.”

“Fitz and Simmons have a talk.”

The Flash

Rick Cosnett teases a potential dark path for Eddie following his abduction by Wells:

TVLINE | Viewers know Eddie as a good guy, but given what he’s learned and how much time he’s spending with Eobard, how malleable are his allegiances?

Very malleable. They are related. They are cut from the same cloth in a sense. … Eddie has a pretty big backbone. He talks back to Eobard. They have the same sort of strength of character underneath it all. Of course, Eddie’s having to deal with so much information at one time. At the moment, his cogs are spinning really fast, and he’s at a crossroads now of what to do, whether he takes this information about Iris and Barry and him not becoming anything in a positive way or a negative way or tries to change things. The power really is in his own hands, but whether Eddie knows that or not, I can’t say.

“The gang actually finds Eddie,” Cosnett reveals. “I can’t say what state they find him in, or if they rescue him, but they do find him a very different man than what he was — than what we’ve seen til now at least. It’s a life-changing moment for Eddie.”

Tales From The Darkside

The CW passed on the reboot of the cult classic, but Deadline reports that several networks (and even potentially digital distributor Hulu) are considering picking the project up.

The Originals

Claire Holt discusses’ Rebekah’s safety in the upcoming finale:

I think we should always be worried about Rebekah being daggered, because Klaus has proven it’s something he loves to do and he does it with great frequency. That’s definitely a fear. But I think that he needs Rebekah in this body and he needs the family to work together to bring down Dahlia, so that’s more of his concern right now than sticking a dagger in her and putting her in a coffin.

Julie Plec teases Elijah and Klaus’ testy relationship going into the final episode:EW]

Julie Plec teases Elijah and Klaus’ testy relationship going into the final episode:

Will we see Elijah and Rebekah put what Klaus did aside for a united front?

Plec: Well, they do need to have a united front in this episode which for Elijah, especially, is just about the most infuriating and frustrating predicament for him to find himself in. Klaus is the last person he ever wants to talk to again. By the time we get to the end of the episode we’ll be asking the question, will his family survive? Will Elijah and Klaus’ relationship survive this latest round of Klaus being Klaus? And how, if ever, will they come back together?

Joseph told us there are some inspiring moments, but we don’t often pair Klaus and “inspiring” together.

Plec: I think you [have to] look at it through the prism of family. Yes, Klaus as a mad man and a monster has done some horrific things, but what it all boils down to that is he is fighting against this woman who is set on destroying his family and destroying his child. For Rebekah and Elijah to fight alongside him is actually a beautiful thing because they are fighting against the cycle of abuse and terror that has been placed over them for so many centuries by their parents and now their aunt.

Some new casting has been announced. Matthew Daddario will play Alec Lightwood, a hunter who “wrestles with romantic feelings for Jace, who also happens to be his adoptive brother”, while Isaiah Mustafa will play Luke Garroway, a former Shadowhunter who is now working with the NYPD to investigate a series of supernatural murders. The Frankenstein Code

Penny Dreadful

Josh Hartnett teases what’s next for Ethan:

Spinoff Online: So Ethan’s secret is out, but we’re gong to see that he’s got a lot more secrets?

Josh Hartnett: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That’s what’s good about the character is that he’s not – and what I’ve liked about working in TV which I didn’t expect to like – was that John [Logan] has not revealed totally, entirely, even to me, Ethan’s whole backstory. I don’t even think he’s quite sure exactly what Ethan’s full backstory is. And we’re kind of seeing that sort of come to fruition the more the scenes play out. And that’s kind of cool. It’s organic the way that you can kind of watch the process determine the actual character in the long run. But the biggest thing for me in dealing with Ethan from the get go was to create a box big enough to hold a lot of different character attributes, so he could be many, many different things.
