This is a shame: CBS has decided to pass on Drew, a modern day take on Carolyn Keene’s detective series Nancy Drew. The series is now being shopped around elsewhere.

The show was to be written by Joan Rater and Tony Phelan, both of whom worked on Grey’s Anatomy and Madam Secretary, and would have followed a modern-day Nancy Drew, a “detective for the NYPD, where she investigates and solves crimes using her uncanny observational skills, all while navigating the complexities of life in a modern world.”

Sarah Shahi (Person of Interest) was set to portray the titular character, which had us really interested in seeing this: her character Shaw was one of the best parts of Person of Interest.
