David Baker is a composer putting on a 15-minute, fully interactive cellphone concerto at the Chicago Sinfonietta. Fully interactive meaning the audience members will be playing the concerto from the direction of Baker. The audience will be divided up into sections and red and green lights will tell the audience when to activate their ringtones. Baker told Reuters that this piece would reflect the "wonderful balance" between order and chaos in society—wow, that was deep, man. There will be two performances of the cellphone concerto—on October 1 and 2.
