Cellphone running Windows CE.net

With all the buzz brewing about cellphones running Microsoft’s Smartphone operating system, there’s actually a PDA phone in the works running not on Smartphone or even the Pocket PC Phone Edition software, but on Windows CE.net. The STAMP PC phone, which looks remarkably like one of Motorola’s Accompli handsets, runs on either GSM/GPRS or CDMA, and has a 2.4-inch, 65,000 color touchscreen, 32MB of RAM, 32MB of Flash ROM, a 200MHz processor, and a built-in digital camera. Whether or not this phone will actually come out is another matter, though ThreeGMobile is reporting that it should be out in Hong Kong this fall. Plenty of other companies have claimed to be working on phones that ran Windows CE, and even showed off prototypes (remember the Neonode N1? Exactly.), but none of them have ever delivered.
