After its Hello Kitty Special Edition laptop, you’d think NEC had nothing else up its sleeve, but they’re back—in black. The newest laptop in its stable is the LaVie G Type J Black Limited Edition with 12.1-inch LCD. Weighing in at just 35 ounces, it comes with a battery that promises to last for 6 hours. Inside, you’ll also get an Intel Pentium M 753 1.2GHz ultra-low voltage processor, 768MB of memory, 80GB hard-disk and wired and wireless (a/b/g) connectivity. Not bad. Although the lack of any optical drive is a bit of a pain, that’s pretty standard in these Japanese ultra-portables.

But the real draw is that there are only 200 of these black beauties being manufactured, each going for about $1,700. Japan only.
