Czech IP Address in 2026: Setup Steps and Prague Results

During our October testing in Europe, the Czech IP addresses from NordVPN and Proton VPN read as Prague. ExpressVPN‘s Czech IP address looked up as Frýdlant, a small town in northern Czechia, on two separate connections. The country read Czechia every time, and Czech websites check the country. Download speeds on the three VPNs stayed between 178.68 and 180.20 Mbps.

Prague Server Results

We tested each VPN on a Windows 11 PC with a 190.36 Mbps connection, using a Prague Speedtest server. Then we checked the city and ISP that whatismyipaddress.com listed. Each VPN lost between 5.3% and 6.1% of our download speed, and IPv6 stayed hidden in every lookup.

What the City in a Czech IP Address Affects

Most Czech websites don’t use the city. Czech TV channels, streaming services, banks, and government portals check whether the IP address is Czech, and ExpressVPN’s Frýdlant result passes that check like a Prague one. The city shows up in local search results, maps, weather, and store finders, which use it to estimate your location. Those will show Frýdlant on ExpressVPN and Prague on NordVPN and Proton VPN.

NordVPN’s Prague server measured 178.68 Mbps with a 34 ms ping, and the lookup placed it in Prague. NordVPN also sells a dedicated IP address in Prague. 2. Proton VPN: Lowest Ping to Prague

Proton VPN has 85 Prague servers, none marked with a Smart routing badge. Its Prague server measured 179.88 Mbps on WireGuard, and ping was 30 ms, the lowest we measured in Prague. The lookup named DataCamp Limited as the ISP. Proton VPN’s Swiss base and audited no-log policy put it on our list of privacy-focused VPNs. VPN Plus costs about $72 for the first two years, rising to about $84 a year afterward.

3. ExpressVPN: Fastest Czech Download

ExpressVPN’s Czech location downloaded at 180.20 Mbps, the fastest result in our Czech tests, with a 31 ms ping. Upload was 16.26 Mbps, compared to 18.46 Mbps on NordVPN. We connected twice and received two different IP addresses, registered to Heficed Net, and each looked up as Frýdlant. Choose 28 months and ExpressVPN’s Basic plan stays below $3 a month.

Free VPNs Without Czech Servers

Czech servers are paid-only on Windscribe, Proton VPN, PrivadoVPN, and Hide.me, so their free plans can’t provide a Czech IP address. Proxies, Tor, and Czech SIM Cards

• Proxy server: a Czech proxy sends one browser’s or app’s traffic through a Czech IP address, without encryption.
• Tor: an advanced setting limits Tor Browser to Czech relays, but pages load slowly, and streaming services block Tor.
• Czech SIM card: mobile data on a Czech SIM goes through the Czech carrier, so websites see a Czech IP address. EU roaming costs the same as at home.

Verdict

Each of these VPNs produced a Czech IP address at close to full speed, so the city each one shows and its features make the difference. NordVPN, first in our list of top VPNs, combines a Prague IP address with a static IP option for logins. Proton VPN also showed Prague, with the lowest ping and 85 servers to choose from.
