Later this fall, Comcast customers will be able to watch and record their favorite NBC shows directly from Twitter, thanks to a smart new partnership.

Tweets about Comcast-owned NBCUniversal shows will start carrying a “see it” button. So when you select a tweet about The Voice, you’ll also see this button at the bottom of the Twitter card. When you tap that option, you’ll be able to watch that show live, set a DVR reminder, boot it up through your set-top box, or peep it on your Xfinity app. The following shows are getting the “see it” button sometime this season:

The Voice

The Blacklist

Chicago Fire

The Michael J. Fox Show

Sunday Night Football

Premier League Soccer

Sochi Olympics

Today Show

Psych

Suits

AllThingsD has a mockup of what the button will look like:

Anyway, even if you don’t watch any of those shows this idea of being able to watch something directly from Twitter is pretty cool. Because many of us are already screwing around on Twitter while we’re watching TV anyway. [AllThingsD]
