Crosswind take-offs suck even if you're riding a fighter jet

Landing or taking off in heavy crosswinds really sucks no matter which plane you're in. It could be the biggest airliner in the world, a prop plane, or these F-18s taking off in 30 to 40-knot crosswinds—it looks fun from the outside, but it really sucks for the pilot and everyone else inside.

I recently had a flight in to O'Hare that landed in a sustained 30 knot crosswind. I only know this because I asked the pilot upon deboarding and thanked him for getting us on the ground safely.

Needless to say it makes for a pretty bumpy ride on a 737. I was also seated in the rear of the aircraft, which didn't help matters.
