Desperately trying to hide your copy of Back Door Sluts 9 from the missus? You'll have to do better than just a good hiding spot. The Cypteks USB drive protects your unmentionables with super-strong hardware encryption and a physical combination lock.
Inspired by the "cryptex" device from The DaVinci Code, this USB drive resides in a solid-aluminum alloy cylinder. Your snooping spouse will have to first access the drive by unlocking the cylinder—that involves twisting a set of five tumblers on the cylinder face. With 26 letters in the English alphabet and a five-letter code, that works out to 14,348,907 potential passwords—just don't use your spouse's name. Even if she somehow unlocks the cylinder and plugs in the USB, your data will still be protected by 256-bit AES hardware encryption and a secondary password. If she cracks that, well, you're on your own.
The Crypteks drive will be available in 4, 8, and 16GB capacities with 24 MB/s read and 10 MB/s write speeds via a USB 2.0 connection. The three inch drive is expected to ship in time for the holidays and retail for $130 and $160 for the 8GB and 16GB versions, respectively. Preorders are available from the Crypteks Kickstarter page (don't worry, it's already been funded).
