Last month, news broke that Daredevil: Born Again would wrap up with its third season. Whatever it’s meant to say about the future of Marvel’s live-action TV shows, it’s allegedly been in the cards for a while.
On a recent episode of the Brandon Davis Show, Marvel’s TV head Brad Winderbaum said the show was built with three seasons in mind. He compared both Daredevil shows to comic collections, saying, “The way we’re looking at it, the original Netflix series is three seasons, and Born Again is three seasons. […] They’re like three-volume sets, and then we will take a breath and figure out what’s next for the character.”
Separately, Charlie Cox told GamesRadar at New York Comic Con that the team “had a good sense” that Daredevil: Born Again would be ending sooner rather than later. Compared to the Netflix show, though, there was “more planning and emotional support” for everyone involved.
However, complicating this narrative that Winderbaum’s trying to establish is that he’s previously talked about annualizing Born Again. In 2025, he spoke to Screen Rant about airing new seasons in March, where he said “hopefully season three and season infinity” as far as the future was concerned. “I think this world is extremely rich, and there are many stories to be told on the streets of New York.” Plans change regularly, and as he told Davis, Marvel seemingly doesn’t intend for Matt Murdock to be gone for long.
Exactly what that future looks like is unclear, so for now, we’ll just have to wait for Daredevil: Born Again to return in 2027 with its final season. At least he’s going out with some (more) old friends by his side.
