Last year, we got news that Donald Glover was spearheading an animated Deadpool series for Marvel. We’ve heard nothing about it since, until now—and the latest news leaves the fate of the show itself in uncertainty.

THR reports that Glover, his brother Stephen (they were both set to write and co-executive produce the show), and FX have all exited the project, which was meant to be an adult-focused action-comedy series and had already been ordered for a 10-episode series to air on FXX. Here’s a statement from FX about the news:

Due to creative differences, FX, Donald Glover, Stephen Glover and Marvel Television have agreed to part ways on Marvel’s Deadpool animated series. FX will no longer be involved with the project. FX and Marvel have an ongoing relationship through our partnership on Legion, which will continue.

Considering the Glovers and FX were pretty much the only names that have been attached to this series, its future seems pretty up in the air right now—although there’s always a chance Marvel could bring it to Disney’s upcoming streaming service, joining the New Warriors show previously attached to Freeform in searching for a new home.

We’ll bring you more on the fate of the animated Deadpool series as we learn it.
