Los Angeles is honoring a local literary hero Ray Bradbury, by creating Ray Bradbury Square at Fifth and Flower in downtown L.A. This is half a dozen blocks away from Clifton’s Cafeteria, where Bradbury was a regular, and a stone’s throw from the Central Public Library, where Bradbury wrote on the public typewriters.
After the City Council voted to rename the intersection after Bradbury, his daughter Susan Nixon told them, “My father would be so proud to be honored in this way.” Working to keep the local public libraries open was Bradbury’s “proudest accomplishment,” she added.
