If these leaked docs are real, the Droid 3 won't cause jaws to drop in the specs department, packing a beefed up version of the 1GHz, dual-core OMAP III chipset and qHD display. But what it will have is the ability to use the phone overseas, which will certainly make it a globetrotter's best friend. [AndroidCentral]
The headline for this article is incorrect.
The Droid 3 does not have a Tegra 2 processor. It has a TI OMAP 3 processor (specifically a 4430).
The Tegra 2 chip is made by NVIDIA, the OMAP is made by Texas Instruments. Both are dual core chips. Currently both clock around 1ghz.
The Tegra 2 is a 40nm ARMv7 chip and is paired with an ULP GeForce graphics processor.
The TI OMAP 3 is a 45nm ARMv7 chip paired with a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processor.
"Tegra 2" does not mean "Dual core 1ghz ARM chip"
