I’ve always preferred the American version of football—something about seeing dudes get pancaked by 300-pounders does my heart right. But I’ll give soccer some props here and confess they’ve way got better trading cards. The new DVD Cardz from Serious pop into any standard DVD player or DVD-ROM drive, and provide the owner with, uh, hours of interactive fun—trivia games, videos, that sort of thing. I’ll care a bit more, of course, when the product line isn’t limited to Manchester United players. I’m sure Louis Saha is a fine striker, but when’s the last time he speared a guy in the sternum? Real football players, please.
Oh, and no hate mail from Europe, please. Just slagging you a bit.

Update: Troy Oxford writes: “I just wanted to point out that Serious (the makers of DVD Cardz) do make Cardz for basketball and football. When I last spoke to the company, they were trying to add other sports (I’m guessing NASCAR and MLB) but they didn’t confirm anything.”
