Nikon releases some pretty cool ‘Ecobins’ binoculars, a new device might help PCs talk in their sleep to save energy, and TrickleStar adds a switch to its TrickleSwitch to fight vampire power.
It’s about time that optical equipment gets rid of the lead, arsenic, toxic dyes, etc. Nikon is starting with green binoculars, but we hope that they’ll follow suit with digital cameras.
A common reason people do not shut down their computers at night is because they want them to be able to access updates, or be accessible by other machines. However, that’s a big power waster. A new device might solve the issue, allowing PCs to talk in their sleep.
The PC TrickleSwitch is an add-on device for the TrickleSaver. The TrickleSaver automatically shuts off accessories connected to a computer or entertainment system when the main device (the PC or the TV) is switched off. However, the new device allows users to manually switch on or off particular devices when the PC is being used, without cutting off the TrickleSaver’s ability to turn off the device when the PC is shut down.
