Speaking on BBC Radio, Westworld star Ed Harris confirmed he’ll be back for the HBO hit’s recently announced season two.

“Yeah, you know, as a matter of fact, I was just talking to Jonah Nolan last night, who’s a creator of this thing with his wife Lisa Joy, and yeah, they’re doing another season,” Harris said. “They’re going to do 10 more episodes, and I will be involved.”

Harris is obviously one of the stars of the show, so him coming back shouldn’t be a big deal. But, in the case of Westworld, it kind of is.

He plays a character referred to as the Man in Black, a user in this elaborate play world, one with immense power and influence. We know he’s a man of some fame in the real world and, as popular theories surmise, we’re actually seeing the character in two timeframes, played by two actors (Harris and Jimmi Simpson, though that’s not confirmed.)

If he’s back for season two, does that mean the character reaches the maze? Does he complete the maze? Is he destined for other things? We really don’t know, but it’s a nice piece of a puzzle we’re really enjoying.
