The other night Verizon showed off the long-awaited Samsung i600, which runs Microsoft’s Smartphone operating system, to a group of gadget enthusiasts in Orange County, and fortunately for the rest of us, one of them wrote in to Smartphone Thoughts with his impressions. He said that he liked the i600’s clamshell design and its bright color screen, but was frustrated by its lack of built-in Bluetooth and the fact that it will run on the older, 2002, version of the Smartphone OS, rather than the newer 2003 version which is due out soon. We still haven’t heard a firm date for when the first Smartphones will come out here in the US, but it’ll probably be sometime around the end of the month.
