Move over bat boy, the kid with gills is taking over. Stone Village Pictures has bought the rights to Alexander Belyaev’s scifi novel Amphibian Man. In this 1920s novel, a scientist saves his young son’s life by transplanting shark gills onto his little body. Of course, now the child spends most of his days in solitude underwater. But all that changes when he falls in love. The novel was made into a movie in the 60s, but this new adaptation will go back to the original source material. [The Hollywood Reporter]
