For Those About To Rock: A Cool 3-String Guitar You Build Yourself

Do you dream of shredding away like a righteous axe-master, but fear you’ve missed your window of opportunity to actually, you know, learn how to play? Loog, a little electric guitar designed for newbies and kids, minimizes the intimidation factor by giving you just three strings to work with.

Part of the fun is that each Loog comes as a set of component parts that are easily assembled at home in a manner of minutes (15 tops, apparently!). Designer Rafael Atijas has put together an incredibly slick kit that contains everything you need to start you (or your kiddo) on an epic musical journey.

The wooden bodies are CNC-cut and painted in one of five soft Pantone hues, and damn—these little guys look freaking great when fully assembled and ready to jamalam. Apparently, they’re good times for pros as well, and as per the FAQs, the trio of strings will still play real chords and pretty much any song you could possibly dream up.

Plus, Loog is already a proven success; the original, customizable acoustic version launched a few years back thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign. As someone with less than zero musical skillz, this amped up version looks like a blast to learn on. Check it out on Kickstarter here, and vive le rock!
