Despite stories about the Microsoft Zune being confiscated at the airport, most airports are still allowing passengers to carry laptops, cellphones and music players on board. Also, the TSA’s official policy as of today, August 11th, still allows these gadgets on planes.

Question: Media have also reported that laptops, cell phones and electronic items are no longer allowed. Is that true?

Answer: No. TSA continues to allow laptop computers, cell phones and other electronic items as carry-on items.

We never said that these items were not allows on planes. We just said some security at some airports were forcing passengers to place their items in checked-baggage. And we never claimed that this was a nation-wide rule. Big difference.
