Taking a much stricter stance than it ever has with the Android app store, Google is going to be banning porn apps from Google Glass. The first app's head to roll will be Tits & Glass, the Google Glass porn app that was announced last week. Where are we going to get our POV porn NOW!?
Tits & Glass was made by MiKandi and comes with porn videos and pictures that were optimized for Glass wearers. So you know, you can JO to the future and all that. Eventually, the point of the app was to get people filming their exploits with Glass too. Fun!
But the fun is no more. Google reacted swiftly and banned the app, updating its developer policy to ban explicit content:
Sexually Explicit Material: We don't allow Glassware content that contains nudity, graphic sex acts, or sexually explicit material. Google has a zero-tolerance policy against child pornography. If we become aware of content with child pornography, we will report it to the appropriate authorities and delete the Google Accounts of those involved with the distribution.
Only a dozen Glass users have downloaded the app but it's interesting to see Google more forceful with its ruling hand with Glass than it ever was with Android. Android was an open space that only begun to take shape when people used it. Glass is moving in the direction Google wants it to.
MiKandi isn't giving up on porn on Google Glass though. MiKandi CEO Jesse Adams said:
Although the app is still live and people are using it, at this point we must make changes to the app in order to comply with the new policies. Expect to see changes to the application tomorrow.”
