Google’s Mobile Homepage Now Has a Facebook-Style Sidebar

Seriously, these days you just have to have a sidebar: Facebook has one, Spotify has one, hell, even Evernote has one. Now, Google is catching up, to make its mobile web page a little more sleek.

Ditching the tab-style menu at the top of page, the new mobile version of Google’s home page looks far more like the desktop version. Navigation is hidden away in one of those sidebars we’re now used to thanks to Facebook, which allows you to access a whole swathe of Google apps.

It’s certainly an improvement—even if it does look like every other mobile interface you use. Not everyone can see the new style yet, but it should be rolled out across the board soon. [Google]
