The fact of the matter is, if you don’t teach your kids about the dangers of using Comic Sans when they’re young, they’re just going to pick it up on the street. Whether it’s a flyer for a garage sale, or a bulletin board at their preschool, the world is a minefield of terrible typography, and you need to address the issue with your young’ns before it becomes a problem.

Not only does this lovely laser-cut, hand-finished wooden puzzle teach your child their ABCs, it also provides an important lesson in tasteful font selection. Everything from Helvetica to Arial is represented, and most importantly you’ll notice that Century Gothic is used for the letter ‘C’—no Comic Sans anywhere here. At $300 it makes for an expensive object lesson, but would you rather risk being horrified the day you find them using that awful font on an essay cover page? [Etsy via Taxi]
