Beloved food magazine Gourmet was shuttered by Conde Nast last October to the sadness of food nerds everywhere. But now, it appears to be rising from the ashes as…an iPad app.
Gourmet Live, as the app is to be called, will basically be a multimedia version of the magazine, complete with videos and articles. The video above does a good job explaining what it’ll be (on a strangely thin-beveled iPad).
It looks pretty nice, really. Unlike some other recent magazine apps, it focuses on displaying basic content well rather than being impressive with flashy touchscreen-designed layouts. It should hit the app store late this year. [Gourmet Live via Silicon Alley Insider]
