It’s IFA 2026 time, which means Govee is ready to show off more of its ambitious lighting products. The most interesting product of the three new ones that Govee talked to me about in a briefing ahead of the technoshow is the 20.5-inch Sky Ceiling Light, which the company first announced but didn’t have demos of, at CES 2026 in January.
What do you get for all that cash? A light that Govee says mimics a ceiling light. Pretty neat if true, because that could save all the expense of cutting a big chunk of your ceiling and roof out to install the real thing. The company says that this light uses AI to prioritize a specific sky-blue light spectrum, at “a wavelength precisely tuned to support the body’s natural vitality and rhythm.” According to Govee, it can provide natural-looking white light across a temperature range between 1,000K and 10,000K. It outputs 7,000 lumens, which is extraordinarily bright, particularly when indoors.
There’s reason to believe the Sky Ceiling Light can do what the company says it can. Govee doesn’t claim that the Ceiling Light Ultra that I reviewed does any skylight mimicry, but its gargantuan 21-inch diameter and super-bright white light got close in my experience. I’m interested in seeing how close the Sky Ceiling Light gets. It’ll be available on Sept. 4, at a rather eye-watering $400.
In addition to the Sky Ceiling Light getting a release date, Govee also announced follow-ups to two existing products. First is the COB Strip Light 2 Pro. COB, or chip-on-board LED lighting, means more densely packed LEDs, which Govee says leads to smoother, more evenly lit surfaces with no hot spots. This new model now features 1,344 LEDs per meter, up from 1,260 LEDs per meter in the original COB Strip Light Pro. They also use RGBWWIC instead of RGBIC+W, which means they can output a better range of white light, including warm whites. That should mean more natural white light hues in general, but again, we’ll have to wait and see. The COB Strip Light 2 Pro will cost $170 for a 5-meter strip when it launches on Sept 4.
Lastly, Govee has announced the Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro. This set of lights, meant to be a more or less permanent installation on the exterior of your home, as the name implies, looks to be a lot like the Permanent Outdoor Lights Prism I reviewed last year. The main difference is that this model beams gradients that shift colors vertically down your wall instead of horizontally. Also, Govee has changed the way they mount—now, instead of fixing the actual lighting modules to your eaves, you would screw in or adhere mounting brackets first, then slot in the lights. The Outdoor Lights 2 Pro will cost $500 for a 100-foot model, or $800 for double that, and you can buy them starting Sept. 7.
All three of the new lighting products will work with Govee’s app and the AI chatbot inside of it that you can use to create lighting effects simply by describing what you want (to mixed results, in my past testing). But they also each support Matter, meaning you can use them with whatever smart home platform you want. You won’t get all the cool color gradients and moving effects that way, though—just the ability to set brightness and single colors across a whole light or strip.
