HBO has officially ordered a full season of Westworld, the new TV series based on Michael Crichton's hit book and the cult favorite '70s movie, set to star Sir Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris. Everything about this sounds awesome, but it's this strange video HBO posted with the announcement that's blowing our minds.
HBO sent the news with the above Vine video attached, which is both baffling and creepy as hell. Even more bizarre is the show's official logline, which is this: "Westworld is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin." Yikes.
So... you guys have any thoughts or theories about what any of it means? No rush, though — I get the feeling we're going to do a lot of speculating about this show before the first episode premieres.
