Hitachi’s 4GB Microdrive

Hitachi is pumping up its Microdrives, those tiny hard drives that fit into a CompactFlash Type II card slot, to 4 gigabytes. And it looks like these’ll actually give CompactFlash some real competition, with a 4GB Microdrive set to retail for about $499, or less than one-third what a 4GB CompactFlash memory card goes for. Should start showing up in November.
