How does a galaxy evolve — and how do we know what we know about that process? James Geach is here to take all of our questions about the process and the observation of galaxy formation.
Geach recently published a new book Galaxy: Mapping the Cosmos focusing on the evolution of galaxies, and the ways in which we study them.
He holds a PhD from Durham University and is a Royal Society University Research Fellow at the Centre for Astrophysics Research (CAR) at the University of Hertfordshire. Besides the evolution of galaxies, his research also focuses on understanding some of the hidden activities of galaxies, parsing out the role of the environment in galaxy formation, and the role of cold gas in the process.
